Southwoods Swims for Morrys Camp

SouTHWOODS SWIMS FOR MORRYS CAMP

For the past week, Southwoods campers as well as staff have had the opportunity to help share the camp experience they know and love with other kids who wouldn’t normally be able to experience it. The Project Morry Swim-A-Thon started on Monday, July 14. All campers and staff are invited to voluntarily participate by either swimming or walking laps on the Southwoods running track.

Andrea and Scott invite our campers to take part and generously donate money for each lap completed towards sending kids to Project Morry, who otherwise would not have the opportunity. So many of our camp families also elect to support this amazing organization and of course we would invite all of our camp parents to support their camper as they learn to embrace wonderful philanthropic organizations like project Morry.

Project Morry is a nonprofit, year-round youth development organization, anchored by a residential summer camp with an educational focus. Our LITs organize and manage this program. They track our campers and staff progress each day and announce the cumulative lap count each night at lineup. At the end of the Swim-A-Thon the LITs will share with parents how many laps their camper has completed and provide the opportunity to make a donation.

We are so very proud of the fact that out of the 30 plus organizations, over the last 18 years, Southwoods has always been one of the top camps for parent participation. It is easy to see why we have such kind and caring campers here at Southwoods. Thank you for your generous support in helping those less fortunate have the opportunity to experience summer camp. Most of all, thank you for sharing such great children with us!!!
